War Quotes
War is a strikingly sensitive topic. That is the ultimate demonstration of violence and the complete lack of understanding of the meaning of life, in its physical and moral aspects. When I was a kid, I thought that “war” is something that is only in books and does not exist any more in real life – like the “Ice age”, for example. Fortunately, I have never been faced directly with this form of aggression. With the years passing, however, and my knowledge and view of the world extending, I found out (horrified) that actually War still does exist and it has no plans of disappearing from our reality.
A 7-year old child, whose parents were from Middle-Eastern background, but the family did not live in that region any more. This charming kid, was not as lucky as I was at her age and she was well acquainted with the reality of wars. They were discussing national flags in class. Someone said “The red color in our flag symbolizes the blood of our brave soldiers, who died for our country in the past.”. The little kid raised her hand and asked with eyes full of innocence and hope “Excuse me, Ms., can you, please, tell me when the soldiers in my country will stop dying, too?”.
War, as a tool for achieving one`s purposes, for revenge or self-protection, will always break lives and make our beautiful world a worse place than it can be. If you are curious about what great people have contemplated on was, proceed with the current exciting page, full of quotations about war.
